چکیده

We present the implementation of a dust growth and fragmentation module in public Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) code PHANTOM. This is made available for use with this paper. The coagulation model considers locally monodisperse size distributions around single values that are carried by SPH particles. Along presentation model, tests, we showcase few typical circumstellar disc simulations revisit previous results. also interfaced radiative transfer MCFOST, which facilitates comparison between ALMA observations generating synthetic maps. Circumstellar reproduce `self-induced trap' mechanism first proposed Gonzalez et al., supports its existence. Synthetic images discs featuring suggest it would be detectable as bright axisymmetric ring at several tens au from star. With paper, our aim to provide tool able study explore variety applications related planet formation.

Dust-cooling–induced Fragmentation of Low-metallicity Clouds

Dynamical collapse and fragmentation of low-metallicity cloud cores is studied using three-dimensional hydrodynamical calculations, with particular attention devoted whether the cores fragment in the dust-cooling phase or not. The cores become elongated in this phase, being unstable to non-spherical perturbation due to the sudden temperature decrease. In the metallicity range of 10−6 − 10Z⊙, co...

Self-consistent Growth of Decimeter-size Dust Agglomerates and Beyond

Introduction: It is widely accepted that collisions between dust agglomerates lead to growth of larger bodies in the early Solar System. Collision parameters change with evolving time and depend on the model for the Solar Nebula. For the first growth phase from µm to cm size (v << 1 m/s) the growth process is well understood [1]. Eventually, collision velocities reach values of up to 60 m/s. We...

Tea-dust induced asthma.

A 55-yr old female worker in a tea-packing production line developed asthma to tea-dust. She had no previous history of chest disease, and skin prick testing to a solution of tea-dust and to a variety of common allergens were all negative. Diagnosis was established by serial peak expiratory flow rate readings. Bronchial provocation challenge with tea-dust demonstrated a late asthmatic reaction.

Growth, Fragmentation and Inward Drift of Dust in Protoplanetary Disks: Implications for Chondritic

Introduction: The study of dust evolution in protoplanetary disks is crucial for understanding the textual, chemical and isotopic properties of chondrites. It is widely accepted that chon-drules were formed by melting of precursor dust grains in the solar nebula. Thus the typical size of chondrules would be correlated with the dust growth process. In addition, once dust grains have grown to ~ m...

Dust Growth Instabilities in Silane-based Plasmas

In this paper we report on two instabilities observed in dusty plasmas, at different stages of dust particle formation. Experiments are performed in a low-pressure Ar/SiH4 radiofrequency plasma. The first instability, occuring at the transition between nanocrystal accumulation and coalescence phases, is very sensitive to operating conditions. It is shown to be a good indicator of the end of nan...
